Manual Repair Guide for Lloyd AC Remote
Any air conditioner has to have a control because it makes things easy for people to change modes, alter settings, and manage lots of functions. Sometimes these air conditioner remotes can have problems just like any other gadget.
The purpose of this manual is to help people fix issues with their Lloyd air conditioner remotes by giving them step, by step instructions.
Note: If any part of fixing the control confuses you you should get help from an expert before you do anything else. To be safe you should unplug the Lloyd air conditioner remote control from the power source.
Tools necessary:
1. A little Phillips screwdriver
2. Alcohol, isopropyl
3. Fabric swabs
4. In case new batteries are required
5. Sandpaper with a fine grain, if necessary
6. (If required) a soldering iron and solder
Step 1: Looking at the batteries
1. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to take off the battery cover that is, on the back of the remote control.
2. Take the batteries out of the remote control and look at them to see if they have any corrosion or leaks or if they are just completely used up.
3. When you put batteries in make sure you get the plus and minus signs right because if you do not it will not work properly.
4. After you put the batteries in and close the cover tightly you should check to see if the remote control is working like it should.
Step 2: Clean the remote control
1. Take a cotton swab. Put some isopropyl alcohol on it to make it wet.
2. Be very careful when you clean the control on the outside especially around the buttons because remote control buttons get dirty really easily over time.
3. Use the cotton swab to clean the little parts under the buttons, on the remote control because that is where dirt and stuff builds up.
4. Wait until the remote control is completely dry before you try to use it to see if it works properly with the control.
Step 3: Repairing Unresponsive Buttons
1. Sometimes you have to clean or fix buttons on the remote control if they stop working.
2. To get inside the control you need to open it up with a small Phillips head screwdriver.
3. Look at the rubber thing under the buttons to see if it is worn out or damaged. You can use cotton swabs and some alcohol to clean the rubber and the little metal parts on the circuit board that the buttons touch.
4. If cleaning the buttons does not work you can try using a piece of fine sandpaper to gently rub the metal parts on the circuit board that the buttons touch to get rid of any yucky stuff that might be, on them.
5. After you put the control back together you should test the buttons to make sure they are working again.
Step 4: Repairing Loose Battery Contacts
1. Sometimes the buttons on the control do not work and we need to clean them or fix them.
2. To see what is inside the control we have to open it with a small screwdriver that has a star shape, on the end.
3. We should look at the rubber thing under the buttons to see if it is worn out or broken. We can use sticks and a kind of alcohol to clean the rubber and the little metal parts on the inside board.
4. If cleaning the buttons does not make them work we can use a paper to rub the little metal parts on the inside board and make them work again.
5. After we put the control back together we should try the buttons to make sure they are working properly again.
